How a WhatsApp step works inside a sequence
A sequence opens on email or LinkedIn. When a person replies, accepts your invitation, clicks a link, visits your site, books a call, or when you typed their number in yourself, the WhatsApp step unlocks. The rep writes a short opener for that person: who is writing and from which company in the first line, one line on why them, one question, under 300 characters, no links. It ends with “Reply STOP and I will not message again.”
If the person has not engaged when the WhatsApp step comes up, the rep sends an email or a LinkedIn message at that step instead and tries WhatsApp again a few days later. After five tries with no signal it gives up on WhatsApp for that person and the sequence carries on without it.
Why not cold WhatsApp, when everyone in the region does it
Because it works until it does not. The UAE regulator treats unsolicited messages as spam, the Personal Data Protection Law is consent-first, Saudi Arabia is the same, and Meta bans numbers on volume and reports with no appeal that matters. A number your business has used for years is not something to risk for a few cold opens. So a sequence in BOSRAI cannot start with WhatsApp, and the product refuses to save one that tries.
What the rep does with a WhatsApp reply
Every reply lands in one Inbox, in the same conversation as the person’s emails and LinkedIn messages. The rep reads it, labels it (interested, question, objection, wrong person, not now), and drafts the answer. You approve with one click, or edit first. If you turn automatic chat replies on, the rep answers on its own, and each answer says an AI assistant wrote it and that a person reads every reply. A STOP, in any wording, is honoured without a model in the loop: the person is marked do-not-contact and their waiting drafts are deleted.
Timing and limits that protect your number
Messages go out between 07:00 and 21:00 where the person is, worked out from their profile or their number’s country code. Approve a draft at midnight and it says “Sends at 07:00 their time”. A new number starts at a small daily cap that grows as it is used, the way a person’s would. Numbers that are not on WhatsApp are discarded and never count against you.
WhatsApp outreach tools versus an AI SDR
| WhatsApp broadcast tools | BOSRAI | |
|---|---|---|
| Finds the prospects | No, you bring a list | Yes, from your audience definition |
| Opens on WhatsApp cold | Yes, that is the product | Never; email or LinkedIn first |
| Email and LinkedIn in the same sequence | No | Yes |
| Reads and answers replies | Templates and menus | Reads, labels, drafts a human answer |
| Books the meeting | Link in a template | Booking page, calendar, reminders |
| Says it is an AI | Rarely | On every message no person approved |
Can an AI SDR use WhatsApp?
Yes, with conditions. BOSRAI sends WhatsApp from your own connected number as one step in a multichannel sequence, only to people who have already engaged.
Is cold WhatsApp outreach legal in the UAE?
Unsolicited marketing messages are treated as spam by the regulator and the data law is consent-first. That is why the product only uses WhatsApp after a signal, identifies the sender, includes STOP, and keeps to 07:00 to 21:00 local time.
Do I need the WhatsApp Business API?
No. Scan a QR code with the number you already use. Warm-up and caps are handled for you.
What languages?
The rep writes in the language of the sequence you build, including Arabic and Turkish, and reads replies in any language.
